The Story Behind Bobby’s Farm

More than twenty years ago, Bobby bought a piece of land on the outskirts of Pune with no intention of turning it into a business or an event space. At the time, the city felt much smaller than it does today, and the areas beyond it carried a kind of quiet that is difficult to find now. The farm was meant to be a personal retreat, somewhere to step away from the pace of everyday life and spend time surrounded by open skies, fresh air, and stillness.
In those early years, the farm existed simply as a part of family life. It was a place for slow weekends, long meals outdoors, afternoon conversations that stretched into the evening, and the kind of ordinary moments that rarely feel important at the time but somehow become the ones people remember most. There was no larger plan for it. It was just a space that felt calm and comforting in a way the city often didn’t.
As the years passed, Pune slowly began expanding around it. Roads became busier, neighbourhoods grew, and places that once felt far away slowly became more connected to the city. Through all of those changes, the farm managed to hold onto the feeling it had always had. Even as everything around it evolved, it still felt like somewhere people could slow down for a while.
Over time, Bobby’s son, Amar, began looking at the farm differently. Having grown up with the space and the memories attached to it, he started noticing how naturally people felt at ease there. Friends and family gathered more comfortably outdoors, conversations lasted longer, and celebrations somehow felt more personal in that setting. The farm had never been designed to impress people, but it had a warmth to it that made people feel welcome without trying too hard.
That was really where the idea for Bobby’s Farm began. Not from the intention to create a traditional venue, but from the thought that maybe this feeling was worth sharing with more people.
Rather than changing the farm into something overly polished or commercial, the family wanted to preserve what had always made it special. The idea was never about creating a perfect backdrop. It was about creating a space where people could genuinely enjoy being together, whether that meant weddings, family celebrations, or quiet gatherings that felt intimate and unhurried.
Today, Bobby’s Farm continues to be a family-run space shaped by those same values. While it now hosts celebrations and experiences for others, the heart of the farm still comes from the life it had long before it was opened up publicly. You can feel it in the quieter corners of the property, in the openness of the space, and in the atmosphere that encourages people to slow down without even realising it.
In many ways, the story of Bobby’s Farm is less about the creation of a venue and more about the continuation of a feeling. What began as a private retreat for one family has gradually become a place where many others can gather, celebrate, and create memories of their own.
The farm has changed over the years, but its purpose remains remarkably similar. It is still a place where people come to step away from the noise for a little while, spend time with the people who matter most, and enjoy the simple pleasure of being together. And perhaps that is what makes Bobby’s Farm special. Its story was never built around events or celebrations. Those came later. The story began with a family finding a place they loved, and choosing to share it.
